His
artist name is Pathein Maung Maung Thein. He was born in Pathein and he uses “Pathein” for his name prefix and initial symbol in his signature. He signs M. M. Thein in his latest works. He was born in 1938. (Pathein, formerly known by Bassein and Bassein Parasol is a famous local product of Myanmar.)
He studied art under U Nyan Shein, A-1 U Than Sein, U Maung Maung Mya, Saya Myit, U Thet Win, U Tun Nyunt, U San Win and U Kyi.
He is a full time artist and stopped art teaching in 2023. He taught art for more than 60 years.
